Bill Sumner
Bill received a well-deserved award from
OAHA for his many years of service to
preserve the history of Oxford. Bill served
on the Board from 2006 to 2020. He held
the job of secretary, worked at our Archives,
and helped develop our original website and
our Facebook page. We are glad so many of
his family members could join us for this
presentation.
Dr. Faye Doyle
OAHA presented an award to Dr. Faye
Doyle on Saturday, November 20. Dr.
Doyle was the founder of OAHA and
served on the board for 20 years. A room
in the Archives building has been
dedicated in her honor to hopefully
inspire continued commitment by others
to preserve local history.

Oxford Area Historical Association
Ken Woodward
Ken received a well-deserved award for his leadership in the Oxford Area
Historical Association. Ken has been on the Board since 2010 and has served
as President and Vice-President. He also chairs the Program Committee and
has a talent for finding interesting speakers. Ken also has organized OAHA
trips and has been a faithful volunteer at our Archives. He has been involved
in many OAHA projects over the years. We are glad that he continues to be a
member of our Board!
A painting of Hopewell School by artist Tom
DeMott was donated to OAHA in memory and in
honor of Kent Vendrick, a former OAHA Board
member. Kent restored the Oxford school bell
when the Hopewell building was torn down and
was the project manager and driving force behind
the construction of the Hopewell Bell Tower.
Accepting this gift from an anonymous donor are
Kent's wife, Debbie Vendrick, and Gail Roberts,
OAHA President.
We were honored that County Commissioners Marion Moskowitz, Josh Maxwell and Michelle Kichline
along with County Administrator Robert Kagel and members of the Commissioners' staff took the time
to visit us on July 27th to learn about what OAHA does for the Oxford Area community. Oxford
Borough Council President Kathyrn Cloyd joined us as well.

OAHA to grow in order to preserve our past.
